Aquaman may be the king of the seven seas, but James Wan is most definitely the king of the box office!
$10-Million in North American ticket sales this past weekend helped kick the latest Warner Bros. DC Film over the $300-Million mark domestically. If the numbers don’t lie, then this officially makes Aquaman the fourth DC/EU film to reach this mark. The film now stands shoulder to shoulder with Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman in this illustrious club.
Adding the $306-Million to the $759-Million brought in from overseas markets, the deep sea adventure has amassed a worldwide total of $1.065-Million.
This is a huge win for Warner Bros. the DCEU and fans alike!
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.
Starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Nicole Kidman, Ludi Lin, Willem Dafoe and Doloh Lundgren, Aquaman is in theatres now.
