The newly released synopsis for the upcoming Arrow episode ‘Underneath’ reveals that Oliver and Felicity will be trapped together in the bunker for an undisclosed period of time, but this finally gives them the time and opportunity to deal with their relationship.
For the better part of this fifth season, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) couldn’t have been any further apart from a romantic perspective. Indeed, both characters had actually moved on and began dating other people for a time. Unfortunately, as it often happens in the superhero world, a happy ending was not to be. In the first half of the season, we saw Felicity’s then boyfriend mistakenly killed by Oliver as part of Prometheus’ plan to destroy Oliver and all those he held dear. Later in the season, Oliver himself would voluntarily walk away from a budding relationship with reporter Susan Williams (Carly Pope) in fear that the same fate might befall her.
So, as you can see, the topic of the fall of Olicity, has barely had time to be discussed. But that’s all about to change. In the official synopsis that The CW has released for the next episode, we see that Oliver and Felicity are trapped together in the bunker, alone, where they find that they now have nothing but time to discuss the taboo topic of their failed relationship and are finally able to air their true feelings and grievances to one another, once and for all.
