The Wrap has dropped a new image as part of their 2017 TV preview from NBC’s DC Comics-based comedy series, Powerless. In the new image we see Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke, an insurance adjuster whose specialty is working with people with claims due to the collateral damage caused by superheroes. The series will also feature Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, Christina Kirk, and Ron Funches in series regular roles.
You can check out the new image along with a new synopsis for the show below, both of which have a slick connection to Batman in them. I’m actually surprised it took this long for a series such as this to make it on the air. If this series is done right and isn’t over the top, it has the potential to be pretty hilarious.
In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
Powerless will premiere February 2nd on NBC.
