Entertainment Weekly has provided us with some new images from Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. Though they are low resolution, they do give us a great first look at some of the new heroes and the main villain himself. I think the final version of the Egyptian overlord/Alien, Apocalypse, is well done. Not too alien or over the top in any way in the character’s design. Actor Oscar Isaac is completely unrecognizable under his villain makeup and garb. Make sure you check out the full gallery below.
“It’s a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction,” director Bryan Singer says. “It’s one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That’s why he needs ¬special assistants in this process.”
We will see many new faces in this film, and some familiar. Returning are Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique, and Beast. We will also be treated to the return of Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and Lucas Till as Havok. Newcomers Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee round out the cast quite nicely.
This will be the conclusion of the trilogy that started with X-Men: First Class, was followed with X-Men: Days of Future Past. X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.
