The roster of players for The CW‘s Batwoman pilot seems to still be in a state of flux.
David Nutter, originally signed on to be the episodes director, has stepped down due to personal reasons but will remain on as executive producer. In his place, Marcos Siega has swung in to take over the role.
Batwoman, who was only recently introduced to the Arrowverse in The CW’s Elseworlds crossover event, stars Ruby Rose as the caped and cowled heroine. Greg Berlanti once again is at the point of this new CW/DC project, with assistance from Vampire Diaries alum Caroline Dries, who penned the episode’s screenplay.
Also new to the set is Dougray Scott, who will play Jacob Kane, the father of Kate/Batwoman and a role that may prove to be the male lead in the series. Jacob is described as a former military colonel who has contempt for vigilantes, speifically Batwoman, as he takes it upon himself to take down crime in Gotham City with his private security firm, The Crows. The irony in the storyline is that he’s unaware that his own daughter has become the very thing he has sworn to eliminate the need for, vigilantism. .
Scott has been recently seen on Crackle’s Snatch series, miniseries The Woman in White, Full Circle and Fear the Walking Dead. On the big screen, you’ve seen him in films such as Mission: Impossible II, My Week with Marilyn, Ever After: A Cinderella Story, Hitman as well as the hit TV series Desperate Housewives.
