Coming in on the heels of the initial news that Fox has decided to pick up Matt Nix‘s forthcoming X-Men series for a pilot episode, it’s now been announced that X-Men film director Bryan Singer will in fact be directing this episode.
Singer is no stranger to the X-Universe or its fans, having directed four of the X-Men films which include X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. You would have thought that Singer would have had his fill of the franchise by now, but apparently not.
Singer will also be serving as an executive producer on the project, along with Nix (Burn Notice) who is writing the script and wearing the hat of showrunner as well. What we do know is that the show will focus on the lives of two ordinary parents who eventually discover that their children possess mutant-like abilities. Frowned upon by the government and forced into hiding, the family encounters and eventually goes on to join an underground network of mutants who are constantly on the run and must fight for their very survival.
This looks like it could be very promising. What are your thoughts about Singer directing the pilot? Let us know.
