So ever since The Flash crossed over on to Supergirl’s Earth, fans everywhere began clamoring for her to appear with the cast of Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Then, when it was announced that Supergirl would be migrating from CBS to The CW, these same fans went absolutely apeshit with excitement because it looked like all of these crossovers were actually going to happen. And they are…almost.
While it appears that Supergirl will indeed be making appearances in the upcoming seasons of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and The Flash, the other heroes will not be visiting National City any time soon. At least not if executive producer Marc Guggenheim has anything to say about it. While at Comic-Con, Guggenheim clarified with reporters the extent of Supergirl’s eventual appearance on Earth-1. “It’s an external threat from outside the shows that will involve Supergirl coming over to Flash, then Arrow then Legends of Tomorrow,” Guggenheim explained.
This certainly sounds like your traditional crossover situation. However, Guggenheim was quick to clarify to the press that the story will not at any point be crossing back over into the character’s own show, despite the fact that they are all now airing on The CW. “I don’t like to oversell. She is going to be coming over but we’re not going to do a full on Supergirl crossover episode,” he explained. “I don’t want to give you the wrong impression.”
Okay, so we’ll be getting three quarters of a complete crossover as opposed to the entire mother load. I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s close enough for me. I’ll take it!
