Among the many new series trailers debuting at SDCC this weekend was CBS’ Star Trek: Discovery which was a huge hit for all of the Trekers in the audience. The Trek community has been left wanting for some time now and it looks like this new series is going to be exactly what they’ve been waiting so patiently for.
The new trailer makes it clear that the premise for this new series will focus on the return of Starfleet’s age old enemy, the Klingon Empire. We also see some character spotlighting in this trailer as well. We get our first good look at Sonequa Martin-Green’s Lt. Commander Michael Burnham and are briefly intoduced to the intergalactic swindler Harry Mudd, portrayed by Rainn Wilson in the series. The character is a fan favorite that was originally introduced in the original Star Trek series and was played by Roger C. Carmel.
