Looks like Lana Lang, hometown friend of Clark Kent, will play a prominent role in the upcoming CW series Superman & Lois. Former star of The Passage, Emmanuelle Chriqui has been cast to portray the character and will be a series regular opposite Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch in the series, the CW’s upcoming drama about the DC Super-couple.
Chriqui will portray Lana Lang-Cushing, lifetime Smallville resident and now the loan officer at Smallville Bank. Currently experiencing a low point in her life, Lana renews her friendship with her old friend, Clark Kent.
Former Flash showrunner, Todd Helbing, will be executive producer on Superman & Lois with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns. Berlanti, through his company, Berlanti Productions, is the mastermind behind The CW’s cannon of super-successful shows revolving around DC heroes . Due to the chaos that the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown the world into, the production will break typical protocol and move directly into the series’ production upon the pilot episode’s completion.
Chriqui most recently worked alongside Mark-Paul Gosselaar in The Passage, which aired on Fox for a single season. Her other television credits include Shut Eye, The Grinder, Murder in the First, The Mentalist, Cleaners — which she also executive produced — The Borgias. Her film credits include The Knight Before Christmas, Hospitality, Super Troopers 2 and The Steps, among others.
